The crocodile is one of the main actors in the puppet theater. He steals granny's alarm clock, bites Kaspar's nose and tries to eat the princess - or was it the prince? When it rattles its false teeth, there's definitely something going on and the children are all ears.
We put on a little puppet show for every one of our daughters' birthdays. It started on our eldest daughter's 3rd birthday. Every year a new character was added and the stories became a little more complex. When the children are a bit older, they play themselves and make up their own stories.
I think there is hardly a more meaningful game for children than playing puppet theater. It has everything in it. You need imagination, courage and empathy to invent stories and speak roles.
