The knitwear is made in Peru by a small women’s cooperative. This small aid programme is organised by Judy, who runs a Walldorf kindergarten in Berlin and wanted to do something for the inhabitants of the small mountain village her mother comes from. Initially there were only 3 women who knitted there, now there are 15, but a mule still collects all the jumpers and takes them to the next bigger town, from where the items are then sent until they end up in Berlin Charlottenburg. This photo is of those same mules.
The prices are scaled according to the size.
These pollunders are made of 80% alpacka and 20% cotton. Super soft and comfortable and very warm at the same time.
