The donkey is one of my favorite animals and that's why I particularly like the donkey doll. He can talk and wiggle his ears and looks very lively. People say that donkeys are simple-minded, but that's a slander. They just don't do what they're told.
We put on a little puppet show for every one of our daughters' birthdays. It started on our eldest daughter's 3rd birthday. Every year a new character was added and the stories became a little more complex. When the children are a bit older, they play themselves and make up their own stories.
I think there is hardly a more meaningful game for children than playing puppet theater. It has everything in it. You need imagination, courage and empathy to invent stories and speak roles.
